Here is a shirt from another island -- this one in the Pacific Ocean. The Big Island of Hawaii is one of Jodi and my favorite places. We like Kona, the triathlon mecca, the beaches and of course the volcanos and lava. This Lava Dirt shirt I got in 2005. There is a honu on the back.

The Secret Message Game

Each month a portion of a secret message will appear, revealed one letter at a time. Other than those letters, the only clues are (1) limericks and (2) doubles. September's letters did not appear clearly on all browsers, so here they are again:

If the letters appearing during a particular month are:

the trick is to figure out a mapping that reveals the message. In this case the mapping is B=A, C=B, D=C, E=D, etc. up to A=Z so that the message is

DAN IS COOL

The double P in the coded version of the message will be part of a bigger puzzle that will help answer a question at the end of the year.
