Here is the last official shirt (#365) of the year-long blog. This is the only blank shirt of the blog ... on the front that is. On the back of this shirt there is a description of the associated event that I did on this date back in 1995. The secret puzzle game ends with a question to which the back of this shirt has the answer. A prize awaits the first person who figures out the back of this shirt and the answer to the secret puzzle game.

On this date in 1996 I did the Cambridge, MD Biathlon. This is one of my favorite shirts just because the design is so crazy. I especially like the guy on the three-wheeler.

Here is the last double shirt (see also May 15 shirt). Today's shirt would appear to be from the 2008 Parks Half Marathon, which it is ... sort of. I got this second shirt as a race 'premium' at another MCRRC race also last fall so its technically from a different race.

Here is an ugly double shirt (see also February 18 shirt). This is definitely your last opportunity to see me in this shirt. It's fabulous colors, design and uplifting message will make it a great bike cleaning shirt (I'm thinking chain, not frame) or oil dipstick checking shirt. There is also a good chance that scraps of this shirt will see the business end of various bathroom 'appliances'.

Here is another double shirt (see also April 15). The story behind this one is that I was doing some work around the house one day and needed a rag. I look in the rag bag and what do I find but a mint 20 Willard shirt (I can't imagine how it got there). Some people rescue cats, others rescue greyhounds, I rescue t-shirts. I'm too attached to this shirt to try to place it in a new home.

Here is another repeat shirt. This is the 1999 SPUD triathlon shirt (see also June 17). I have two of these shirts because Jodi apparently was not particularly fond of the design on the shirt and did not want hers.

Here is the first in a series of t-shirt doubles. This shirt is from the Kinetic Triathlon race weekend in May. I did the Half Ironman relay on Saturday (see May 10 shirt) and then the Sprint Triathlon the next day -- one shirt per race. As proof that I'm not just reusing the same exact shirt the first one is also in the photo!

On this date last summer I ran the Caribbean Sounds 10K in Rock Creek Park, DC. This was a good lesson in always knowing the course; the leaders made a wrong turn and took lots of runners along with them. I figured it out when they did and did not go quite as far off course. This highlights a rare time when it is good to not be the fastest runner.

Here is a shirt from the Riverwatch Triathlon & Biathlon held on July 29, 2001. I'm pretty sure I did the Biathlon version of this event. Note the typical Brad-race design.

This is a shirt from a 5 mile run that Jodi and I did ... up Grandfather Mountain in Linville, NC on July 8, 1999. It's called 'The Bear' because it is a 1541 foot climb basically straight up the mountain. If you get to the track and you think you are done ... you are not ... look up at about a 45 degree angle to the top of the mountain and keep going!

This is the shirt from the Apple Duathlon held in Sartell, MN on July 8, 2000. The race was also the USAT National Duathlon Championships. The main memory of the race was that it was hot and humid.

This is one of my first race shirts and definitely my first triathlon shirt. This particular event -- The Group Health Triathlon -- in the summer of 1986 was a canoe, bike and run event at Lake Harriet in Minneapolis.

Here is a shirt from a race Jodi and I did in San Diego on July 4, 2001. The race was a 15K on Coronado Island. My claim to fame in this race was that I beat Paula Newby-Fraser. The reality was that she was faster than I was for the first half of the race but then stopped to wait for a friend to run the second half. Therefore, I can only really say that I was faster than Paula Newby-Fraser's friend.

This shirt is from the 2001 Reston Triathlon (in case it wasn't obvious). I've never actually done this race but Jodi did it in 2001 and didn't like the shirt so I inherited it.

Here is a shirt from the Northern Central Trail Marathon on November 29, 2008. This used to be a long-sleeved shirt but the cuffs were way to small (i.e. if you are wearing a watch don't bother trying to put the shirt on). Now this problem has been taken care of with a couple quick scissor snips.
