Here is a shirt from another spring ten miler.  This one was from the 1998 Charlottesville Ten Miler.  It is a much hillier course than DC's Cherry Blossom Ten Miler.    The Charlottesville race is not known for their great shirts but this one seems to have survived 11 years and counting.

Here is a shirt from the 1996 Cherry Blossom 10 Miler.  It is one of DC's best road races.  The only problem is that it often conflicts with another excellent ten miler (see tomorrow).

Here is a shirt that I inherited from Jodi.  She got it when we were in Lillehammer, Norway at the ski jump.  We got completely rained on during a hike and needed some dry clothes.  The emergency rain poncho with a similar Norwegian moose (elg) that she bought got a huge rip in it almost the instant she put it on so this shirt was the only one of those items that survived.  An interesting tidbit is that the Norwegian word that is pronounced like 'moose' is 'mus' which is a mouse.  So in Norway you get very weird looks when you point out into a field at a large, antlered creature and say 'look at the moose'.

Here is another Workout for the Cure shirt.  This one is from today's event.  I did a one hour spin class which was fun except for the blaring music and screaming instructor.  My legs recovered before my ears did.  Nonetheless, it was for an excellent cause.

This might be one of my first triathlon related shirts.    This one is not from a race, however, but rather from the t-shirt rack at Marshalls.   I'm thinking I paid $5 for this shirt in the mid to late 80s.

This is another shirt that ranks pretty high in the oldest shirt category.  This one is from a trip to Arizona I believe in 1985.

This is a Darwin College rowing team shirt from 1994.  I was on 'an eight' that competed in the Lent Bumps and the May Bumps events on the Cam.

Here is another shirt for March Madness.  This is a shirt I got in 1989 when I visited the University of Arizona -- a perennial NCAA tournament team that always seems to mess up my bracket.

Here is a shirt from Lone Mountain Ranch which has some of the most excellent Nordic ski trails anywhere.  They also are up there in the lunch category as well -- awesome soups, salads, desserts (mmm, almond cookies ...).

Here is a shirt I got after downhill skiing at Moonlight Basin a couple years ago.  I also got to meet a couple of the avalanche dogs on the mountain.  They hang out in a yurt (which rhymes with shirt).

This is a shirt from a race I did today at Lone Mountain Ranch called the Gallatin Glissade.  It was an 18K net downhill nordic ski race on primo-groomed trails.    It was nordic ski nirvana.

Here is another Avalanche Dog shirt.  This one I picked up today at Big Sky.   I met the dog -- Cache -- who posed for a design on the back of the shirt.   Cache was a very friendly yellow lab.

Here is a shirt from the 1995 U.S. Open Tennis tournament in New York City.  This is the one other shirt besides my New York City Marathon shirt (see November 3) that shows the WTC towers.  I do not recall who I saw play at the Open but I do remember being way up in the stadium and not too close to the action.

You know a shirt is old when it has a Smurf on it.  I do not know exactly when I got this 'Just Smurfin' Thru Chicago' shirt but it is definitely circa 1983 or maybe even earlier.   I'm pretty sure it is from my dad.
